SiteBuilder Deluxe is powered by siteZenTM. Although siteZenTM administration and design tools only supports Internet Explorer for Windows, the designers are committed to creating software that will work with all standards compliant browsers. Their current version, however, makes use of Microsoft extensions to the W3C standards that enable the editing of text in a browser. In fact, all software to date that does not involve downloading Java applets or Flash™ uses these extensions. Mozilla has implemented some of the Microsoft proprietary extensions and that is why other site builder tools support Firefox.
They have taken a position to abandon the use of these proprietary extensions and not to port the use of them to Mozilla. This has delayed their support of Firefox but in the long run will mean that they are compatible with a much wider range of compliant browsers.
They have now converted the admin screens to work with Mozilla and Safari.
Mozilla's IE View makes it easy to use siteZen with Firefox.
Firefox users under Microsoft Windows can now automatically launch siteZen into a separate IE window. This way the user does not have to launch IE. In fact, users may still use this even if they have removed the IE ICON from their desktop. We realize this is not an ideal solution but it removes the inconvenience having to run the site builder under IE. siteZen will detect Firefox and refer users to the Mozilla Update page for IE View.
Published pages are compatible with all current browsers.
