How Do I Register, Transfer or Renew a domain name?

• New Accounts:
  If you are opening an account with a new Domain, you will be provided with this option on our account signup forms. If you are already a customer, use your Customer Control Center or Customer Dashboard login when prompted. On new accounts, we use eNom, Inc as the registrar. If you want your account registered through Tucows OpenSRS, please open a support ticket to request the registration and use the 'I already own the domain' option when opening a new account.
  
• Current Customers:

VPS, HSPc & Plesk Customers can register for a domain through their Customer Control Dashboard.

cPanel Shared and Bulk Reseller customers can use This Link to order or transfer domains.

Common Questions:

What is a Registrar?

• A Registrar is an organization or company that is accredited by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) to provide registration services. Web HSP provides registration services in partnership with eNom, Inc. and Tucows OpenSRS, both accredited ICANN registrars.

How long does it take?

• If you are registering a new Domain, it takes typically from 24 to 48 hours for the DNS to propagate throughout the internet.
• If you are transferring your domain from another registrar, the timing varies depending on the registrar you are transferring from. Normally transfers can take up to a week, depending on how quickly you and the current registrar approves the transfer. Some extensions, such as .org, require a 'transfer key' that you need to provide from your current registrar.

Is there an interruption in service when I transfer my Domain Registrar?

• No, there should be no impact to your web site and/or e-mail. When the domain is transferred, all information, including the nameserver (DNS) information, is kept in tact. (Please note that we are talking about domain Registrar Transfer, not your domain web site account transfer (dns), which is different).

Can I transfer my Domain to Web HSP if it is about to expire?

• Web HSP does not recommend making a Change of Registrar request on Domain Names that will expire in fewer than 2 weeks. Expired Domain Names can be placed 'on hold' which would cause a site to become inaccessible.

How do I manage my Domain Registration account?

• TuCows OpenSRS registrations can be managed through their OpenSRS Management Interface. You would have been provided with a username and password at the time you registered your domain. If you need your password resent to you, please open a support ticket and we'll generate that request. If you do not know your password AND your email address is no longer valid, you will need to follow the procedures provided at http://adminchange.com to request a change to your email address. (Web HSP does not have the ability to make this change with Tucows OpenSRS registrations).
• eNom.com registrations can be managed through your Web HSP Customer Control Center or Control Panel Dashboard.
